Valère Burnon, Frank Braley & Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie

Originally from Marche-en-Famenne, Valère Burnon, 3rd Prize in the 2025 Queen Elisabeth Competition, will open the festival alongside Frank Braley, his teacher at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, both accompanied by the Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia under the direction of Guillaume Pirard. Mozart will be honored with his Concerto No. 10, a unique work in his catalog, the only Concerto for two pianos. Originally, it was intended to be played by the composer himself and his sister Nannerl. This rarity will be followed by another facet of the piano duo, that of the piano “shared” with the Concerto for four hands by Malcom Arnold. At the same time neoclassical but with modern accents, this work from the beginning of the 1950s will give a new dimension to the complicity of the performers. The orchestra will then fully speak with Mozart's famous Symphony No. 40, one of the composer's most iconic works, where he deploys an expressive vein of rare intensity.
