Polyphonic Postcards is a vocal journey through the great cities of the European Renaissance, where music is invented in contact with power, faith and the streets. From London to Venice, from Paris to Seville, from Munich to Lisbon and Rome, from Munich to Lisbon and Rome, each stage sketches out a sonic portrait: liturgical fervor, secular elegance, popular outbursts, institutional pomp. Supported by the Stile Antico Ensemble, a reference group from the great English vocal tradition — a school of excellence that the public of Namur particularly likes —, this program brings together Tallis, Janequin, Guerrero, sus, Palestrina, Monteverdi and many others, in a polyphony that is both scholarly and embodied. A compact and eloquent journey through the 16th century, where music becomes a postcard, urban chronicle and living memory of a Europe in full bloom.
