Are you interested in transatlantic viewsObserving the cosmos from a transatlantic at full speed? It is the journey between England and America that the ARTS² Orchestra offers you, with students from the École Supérieure de Musique et de Danse de Lille, under the direction of Nicolas Krüger. It will celebrate Benjamin Britten on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of his death, with an American Overture that recalls his stay in the United States and his stylistic connivance with Aaron Copland. It will lead us to the symphonic suite The Planets, by Gustav Holst, one of the most popular masterpieces in the British repertoire, which also opened the door to a lot of music from the Golden Age of Hollywood! And as the United States discovered a new planet in 1930, the British composer Colin Matthews added Pluto to the famous suite, in a dense and remarkable piece of color. A concert that unquestionably deserves the Blue Ribbon, aka the Blue Ribbon!
