@Leslie Artamonow

The beautiful transcription for string trio of Bach's Goldberg Variations will lead the Satellite Ensemble to the intense and passionate music of the Dutch composer Emmy Frensel Wegener. And it is with the work of another composer played, also, for the first time at the Stavelot Festival, that the 2025 winners of the “Génération Classique” competition will demonstrate their communicative energy. Of Jewish origin and born in 1919 in Poland, Mieczyslaw Weinberg, is one of the witnesses of the tragic destiny of certain artists during this tormented period; refugee in the USSR, his career will be littered with obstacles from which he manages to get out, among others thanks to the help of Dmitri Shostakovich.
