En 1645, en pleine guerre civile anglaise, William Lawes est tué lors du siège de Chester. Sa disparition à 43 ans fut une tragédie pour le monde musical. Robin Pharo à la tête de son ensemble propose pour la première fois en Belgique, l’oeuvre inventive et audacieuse de ce compositeur méconnu du 17e siècle avec notamment ses sublimes psaumes pour trois voix et basse continue et ses Harp consort.
