In the imagery of emerging German Romanticism, Carl Maria von Weber represents aspects that his two famous contemporaries, Beethoven and Schubert, did not illustrate. On the one hand, it is due to the seductive virtuosity that he brilliantly handles on the piano, and that he also entrusts to instruments in full development, such as the clarinet. This aspect will be illustrated live by two young musicians from our region. But it is especially in the field of opera that he is the most innovative, with works whose dramatic intensity and sense of fantasy deeply inspired composers such as Richard Wagner to the next generation. Weber is also a theater director, and in this field, he has developed new visions that have revolutionized the way opera houses are organized.
